Up from the ashes
Susan Mueller, owner of Dyer Mountain Photography, first became a resident of the Lake Almanor area when she was in the third grade.
She grew up here, graduated from Chester High and later started her photography business serving the greater Almanor area.
After several years, she made a move to Paradise in 2007 in order to expand her business opportunities.
To make a long story shorter, she was one of the many victims of the Camp Fire and lost her home along with an estimated 200,000 images and files from her business.
As a result, she decided to move back home and “start over.”
Mueller has been back in Lake Almanor since November 2018 and said that after 20 years in business she is changing the focus of her work, somewhat.
She still offers traditional family photography, weddings and even real estate photography, but has a true desire to pursue her more artistic-related ventures.
She now offers original prints on canvas and metal mediums and frame-able greeting cards.
As she gets resituated with her move, she is currently working on location and by appointment.
Recently, when the Lake Almanor Community Foundation found out about her situation they donated a booth space for her to show off her business. She set-up a silent auction for an original large print as a means to showcase her work.
She offers free consultations by contacting her at 258-0388 or by e-mail at [email protected] hotmail.com.
