Water rises in Indian Valley; some localized flooding

Local residents know there’s a lot of water in Indian Valley. They let us know that the intersection of Stampfli Lane and North Valley Road at Cassidy Corner is closed due to flooding. According to a report from the Sheriff’s Office, one car became stuck in the standing water. Residents who live in the area probably know that flooding in this area is not unprecedented.

A Plumas News reader shared a photo from a PG&E camera, which shows Indian Creek overflowing its banks — something that hasn’t happened since 2019.

The snow continues to melt, with more precipitation forecast for next Tuesday and Wednesday. Motorists in Indian Valley should remain alert for areas prone to flooding.
