Weeding blitz at Dawn Garden in Indian Falls

This Saturday, July 16, from 8 to 11 a.m., there will be a volunteer work party at Dawn Garden in Indian Falls, off of Highway 70.

The Indian Falls community was heavily impacted by the Dixie Fire. Fortunately, the Dawn Garden and horticulture center were minimally burned, but the space is in need of some TLC to keep the weeds from going to seed. The plan is to remove weeds and establish a cover crop this season, to prevent erosion and build organic matter, and to allow energy to be focused on rebuilding fencing and water systems and establishing a plan for moving forward.

The Dawn Garden has been beautifully maintained for over 30 years. Any support for this effort is appreciated. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
