Wet December, dry January, February not promising

Despite the heavy December snowfall, Plumas County is once again looking at drought conditions.

Ron Trumbo, who provides weather information for Plumas News, reports that the total January precipitation was only 0.86 inch. Normal is closer to 6 inches, often some of that is snow.
Looking forward to February,  a normal amount also would be about 6 inches, but there’s nothing in the forecast for at least another two weeks.
