Good reading material is hard to find at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. So John A. Kolb of Quincy brought his copy of the Bulletin to entertain companions Dave and Carlin Gould; son Brian and wife Laura; daughter Robin and husband Sotha as they ran the Colorado River rapids in four-person dorys with river guides OARS. Truth be told, the Bulletin was a little soggy by trip’s end, but not their spirits. Next time you travel, share where you went by taking your local newspaper along and including it in a photo.
