Work on Hwy 70 continues; remains closed to through traffic
Caltrans provided another update this afternoon, April 10, on the status of Highway 70 through the Feather River Canyon. Work is continuing as Caltrans and its contractor, Hat Creek Construction & Materials, Inc., remove material from the slide at mile post 15.2, which is currently blocking the roadway. Crews are focusing on removing hazardous debris from the top of the slope prior to removing material from the roadway for the safety of the crews.
The highway remains closed between Jarbo Gap and the Greenville Wye. There is no estimated time for when the roadway will be reopened to one-way traffic control.
Caltrans thanks the traveling public and local residents for their continued patience during this closure.
