At this time, I will not be seeking a fourth term as Plumas County District 4 Supervisor. My term ends in December 2020, and it seems like a perfect time to end my long career of public service to Plumas County (29 years). I was 49 years old when I won the June Primary in 2008 and will be 63 years old in 2020. It has been a wonderful journey and honor to serve District 4 and Plumas County. Part of me hates to give it up because I have learned so much, but I have aging parents and grandkids growing up more every day, time is precious, and I would like more time to give to all my family.
I have had so many people express an interest in running for District 4 Supervisor, that I want to give potential candidates time to prepare as the filing period will soon happen in a few months of this year 2019, starting with Signatures In Lieu of Filing Fees starting Sept. 12 – Nov. 6, and the Declaration of Candidacy filing starting Nov. 11 to Dec. 6. This is because California has moved the Primary Election to March instead of June of 2020.
Things could change for me by December 6, 2019, the last day to file and I could jump back in the race, but at this time I do not anticipate that change.
