Letter to the Editor: A disaster? Really?

The March jobs report reveals that Biden and the Democrats created an additional 431,000 jobs and a drop in the unemployment rate to 3.6%. This is the 15^th straight month of stellar job gains. Over 7.5 million jobs have been created under President Biden and the Democrats.

The peanut gallery writers will say it is because of COVID. Yes it is but more specifically, it was due to Trump and the Republicans total mismanagement of the pandemic. COVID was a hoax, Trump said and a million Americans died because of it.

What’s interesting is that, according to a recent poll, 37% of Americans think that America has actually lost jobs over the last 12 months, while only 28% knew the employment rate increased. This shows how biased and corrupt our 1^st Amendment press is, and how propagandized Americans are.

Consumer prices are killing American families. Imagine if 7.5 million Americans didn’t have a job? Corporations are gouging us because they can. Remember how Republicans brainwashed their base into believing that regulations are bad? Regulations would protect consumers and the environment from this abuse.

As it is, monopolies are now the norm and without competition, they can charge whatever they want. Our government can’t do anything about it because there are no regulations and no will to stop them. It’s the unregulated ‘free market’ that is fleecing us.

Here is one more economic news item. Remember the child tax credit that Democrats put into law last year? It’s estimated that it kept 3.7 million American children out of poverty. I’m guessing a few County residents benefited from this credit. Well, it expired December 31, 2021 and 3.7 million children went back into poverty.

The Build Back Better bill would have restored the child tax credit, but all Republicans voted against it. What a sick joke it is that Republicans claim to be the party of family values.

And right-wing Congress members and pundits say Biden and Democrats are a disaster for America? Really?

Democrats use your tax dollars to improve the lives of all Americans. We are all part owners of this country and we deserve a healthy, prosperous, and free society. I’ll never understand why people vote Republican. Republicans do absolutely nothing for Americans except for the wealthy and corporations.
