Letter to the Editor: Can the Verizon fix be permanent?
I just read in yesterday’s Plumas News about Verizon being able to temporarily utilize the Plumas Sierra Telecommunications feed for their cell service operation.
Prior to the Verizon outage, Verizon’s data service was pathetic, mostly non-existent. It was nearly impossible to use them for anything to do with the Internet.
Then after their service was restored, their data was a thousand times better than ever. And I thought wow, whatever they did they did a good job of not only restoring their service, but they fixed what ever had been wrong with it in the first place.
Well, the article just explained how the fix was completed and why it’s so much improved.
According to the article, Plumas County Board of Supervisors had to grant permission for a temporary fix for Verizon to utilize this connection.
My question is how can the “temporary fix” be made to be permanent?
It would be a shame for their service to go back to the way it was if there’s a solution that’s already in place.
I hope there’s something the BOS can do to support and encourage this to take place.
Thank you.
