Letter to the Editor: Covid funds/Internet

I’m a little confused, if Nakoma is boasting terabit speeds, why is Plumas Sierra Telecommunications attempting to reach Nakoma to increase speeds? Second, where in the world is Nakoma getting terabit speed service FROM??

Editor’s Note: This response was provided by Josh Hart who provided the original data. “Current Nakoma speeds are about 100 mbit/ sec using a microwave relay from PST. The fiber extension would increase that speed by 10x, according to Dan Gallagher. So, from 2000 to 20,000 times the (wired) speed that Iron Horse currently has access to.”
