Letter to the Editor: Evacuations and masks

Imagine being sick with covid and trying to prepare to evacuate yourself, your family, and perhaps your pets. What about your relatives living in other homes? Imagine not being sick but being in close quarters with others.

We are fortunate to have evacuation centers that follow protocol but it’s hard to keep your mask on as you travel from public to private spaces in group settings.

Let’s work to protect all of us. If you aren’t vaccinated, go get your free vaccine. Make sure your loved ones are also vaccinated. Ask anyone who will welcome you into their home if they are vaccinated.

Make space in our medical facilities for the typical emergencies that are just part of our lives. Do your part, get your vaccine.

Stay safe. Wear your mask. Glad we are all on board with the leadership protecting our community.
