Letter to the Editor: Insurance companies are the problem with healthcare

I just received an email from Megan Dahle about how great it is that CalCare was pulled from being voted on, I couldn’t disagree with her more. Insurance companies are the problem with healthcare. They are in it to make a profit – off of my health. Governments job is to protect and defend the people, not the insurance companies. My son in law is Canadian, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer when in Canada and was treated extremely quickly and it didn’t cost him anything. My other son-in-law here is fighting to get the insurance company to pay for the care that he has needed for months. And we pay through the nose for our healthcare here, yes taxes are higher in Canada, but they get something for their money.
