Letter to the Editor: Should be removed

Silt will one day clot the artery that is the Feather River hydroelectric dam system. As wildfire runoff accelerates the process of silting up the dams, we should be wary of their expiration dates. These dams will not last forever and in light of the damage they have already caused Plumas County, PG&E needs to commit to a plan to remove them altogether before they become a danger to our residents and infrastructure. However this is unlikely to transpire. Following their consistently poor business practices, the nation’s wealthiest and most powerful utility company will probably just run them into disrepair and leave us to pay for the mess.
