Letter to the Editor: That sign again but not the sign this time

JH from Portola, you are entitled to your view and it was uncaring of me to suggest that the original writer should keep her opinion to herself for she has the same rights you and I have. It was her tone (yours) that set me off. Rather than expressing an opinion she (you) demand others should been the knee to her (your) point of view. If you’re willing that was an apology.

As for my climate facts, I stand behind every one of them because they are based on current and past science that is easily available and verifiable. They are not (as you claim) “… false ”facts” about the climate crisis.” I am verbose at times, I do not spew my facts.

I do not believe we are in a climate crisis. I am rather enjoying the change in the climate. (That is the crux of this letter if one were to choose not to read on.)

The issue isn’t really the changing climate (for climates have always changed) it is the purported cause of the change (theoretical global warming), the belief that we can actually do anything about climate change, and the terrifying consequences of climate change that are scientifically unsupported and extreme, that are the real issues. Note, I stated scientifically unsupported. The current trend in “science” is to come to conclusions based on statistics, models, and simple observations. I have addressed each of these “false sciences” in previous letters.

The scientific facts that I present do not support that carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is the cause of climate change no matter what the source of that carbon dioxide. There are other more plausible theories for climate change (shifting magnetic fields, change in the Atlantic currents (chicken and egg issue there), pay back for declaring Pluto is not a planet, increase in the earth’s energy load caused by large expanses of asphalt and other black surfaces, and solar panels that collect energy that would have been reflected back into space at one frequency that now stays here in our atmosphere adding to the earth’s energy budget. I am not speaking of the actual surface temperature of the solar panel but the energy from the sun that is transformed into electricity and the many forms it will take after that.

“The easiest way to gain control of a population is to carry out acts of terror. The public will clamor for such laws if their personal security is threatened.” – Joseph Stalin

Your politicians know this all too well and the public is clamoring for new laws because their personal security is threatened. Never let a good crisis go to waste. Global warming, COVID 19 (Biden just extended the national state of emergency even though “The pandemic is over.”), inflation, recession, depression, immigration, riots, riots labeled insurrection, censorship, cancel culture, racism, sexism, avian flu, missiles in Cuba, communist expansionism (Vietnam War), mad cow disease, over population, food shortages, 2YK, gun ownership, depletion of the ozone layer, cancer from about anything sold in California, Trump, Biden, white supremacism, white privilege, black lives matter, black panthers, the cartels, drugs, cholesterol, radon, Pelosi, McCarthy, death panels, and on and on ad nauseam.

Consider carefully the information you are fed and cling to. Educate yourself, question the conclusions or be led around by a ring in your nose. Yes, my frontal lobe development finalized in the ‘60s and ‘70s and I still question authority. And I can truthfully say no drugs.

I thank the one and only God that, for just a short while, I am only a sojourner on this planet and that I am more than just fertilizer or Soylent Green for some organism in the future. There is inner peace knowing that my place in eternity is secure.

(Disclaimer, I am not a follower, supporter or apostle of Joseph Stalin.)
