Letter to the Editor: The corporation vs. mom ’n pop
Last week, a crew of firefighters fighting the Grandview fire near Sisters, OR stopped at the local McDonalds drivethrough a bit before the 10 PM close time and were told they couldn’t be served.
This created a little spat which was overheard by a lady pumping gas outside at the Chevron.
The lady’s name is Tracy Syanovits, owner of Chops Bistro. And when she realized McDonalds was blowing the firefighters off, she invited the ten of them to her establishment for a free steak dinner that she prepared. Actually teared me up, a happy story for once…
