Eagles take the field as soccer conference kicks off

Feather River soccer teams are challenging teams from all over Northern California. In most cases, the men’s and women’s teams face the same challengers through the season on the road and for home games.

The weather has been incredibly cooperative thus far with only a hiccup of rain last weekend, Sept. 27-28. Clear skies are in the forecast for the coming week, but will they last until the next home game for the Eagle men’s team, Oct. 15?

Feather River men

The men are 4-3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference after their 7-1 win against the Knights in Quincy on Sept. 27.

Eagle goalies were Michael Dairo and Daniel Marshall.

Feather River women

The women are 1-6-2 overall and 1-0 in conference after their 4-1 win against the Knights in Quincy on Sept. 27.

Ayana Weissenfluh scored two of the winning goals for the Eagles while Angelica Soto and Edeina Ortiz scored one each to help win the match facing the Shasta Knights.

Four home games in Quincy remain on the schedule for college soccer fans. Game times vary but fans can mark their calendars for those home games on Oct. 15, Oct. 25, Nov. 5 and Nov 12.
