Graeagle Meadows Men
The day, Oct. 16, started out with a bit of a chill in the air and light cloud cover, which set the stage for this year’s final tournament, “The Kinkley Klassic,” aka “The Cross Country.” Nine men’s teams and four women’s teams participated with the men playing the orange course and the women playing the pink course.
Each was set up so that golfers would truly play cross-country by teeing from specially set tees. The men’s division was won by the team of Steve Jay Hagen, Norman Nichols, John Scott and Chuck Franck. The winning women’s team was Cynthia Baldwin, Sharla Scott, Bev Reynolds and Cathy MacDonald.
GMGA play at Graeagle Meadows will continue weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays until ‘ol man winter shows up and takes over.

Sixteen golfers welcomed the morning scrambles with laughter, conversation and talk of the weather and what a beautiful day it turned out to be.
The golfers drew cards and took to their respective tees. Some were having better days than others, and one team struggled all day long. As Leo Sorosinski said, “We’re doomed, we could have Phil Michelson here and we’d still be doomed.” But other teams thought nothing of coming in 9 under. That team was Mary Trafton, Henry Martin, Donny Hubbell and Mike Ingle. Coming in second with 8 under was Dick Grace, Ron Carter, Jim “Hippie” Battagin, and Darel Joseph. Chip-ins were made by many, but with two each, Ron Carter and Donny Hubbell split the pot.
Start time for morning scrambles on Wednesdays are 10 a.m. Sign in starts at 9:30 a.m. Remember, Mt Huff Golf Course stays open all year!
