Golf Results for the week of 11/13/19

Graeagle Meadows Men

The men’s golf club got out on the green Nov. 1. The game was a 2-man Best Ball competition at Graeagle Meadows for the men of GMGA. The victors in the competition were the team of Jack Gilbert & Chuck Franck with a score of 58, second went to the team of Grant Mayfield & Dan Friedman, who shot a 59 and there was a 3-way tie for third between the teams of Ron Eaton & Don Barnes, Jim Oster & Marve Pierce plus Bob Davies & Andy Knudsen, who all came in with a score of 60. Skins that day were taken by Grant Mayfield on #2, Jim Oster on #3, Steve Harding on #9, Ron Eaton on #10, Darrel Woods on #11, Bryan Hansen on #12, Leo Reishen on #17 and Don Barnes #18.

Wednesday’s game on Nov. 6th was a 4-man competition called 1-2-3; where one ball is used on the first hole, two on the second and 3 on the third with this sequence being repeated for the remainder of the holes. The winning team of Jim Reynolds, Andy Knudsen, Tom Wilson and Norm Nichols shot a score of 114. The teams of George Fraser, Dick Eck, Bert Bellows & Jim Oster and Grant Mayfield, Dan Friedman, Chuck Franck & Bryan Hansen tied for second place with scores of 126. Five men dominated the skins and the five managed to take a total of 10 between them. Nichols took holes 1, 2 and 3 while Bellows took holes 4 and 5. Wilson took holes 7 and 9 while Friedman too 8 and 11. Eck on hole 12 accomplished completing the capture of skins.

With the 2019 season winding down we are starting to prepare for the upcoming season. The 2020 Board of Directors has been installed and a notional schedule for the new season has been posted on the Members page. A new membership application is available on the ‘members’ page and is also available in the clubhouse. Mt. Huff

What do golfers do on a Wednesday morning? They head to Mt Huff Golf Course! The weather couldn’t be beat and neither could the team of Donny Hubbell, Leo Ray and Tom Gossett. Close behind was the team of Matt Taborski, Perry Bertocchi, Henry Martin and Dick Grace. 3rd place was Stan Carr, Bill Arave, Jeff Stevens and Margie Joseph. A tight race for places, but closest to the pin was Jeff Stevens and chip ins were made by Stan Carr and Jeff Stevens. The course is absolutely beautiful and we welcome everyone!

Although the season maybe over, Mt Huff Golf Course is open year round and Wednesday morning scrambles will continue. So all you golfers, when your course closes, come on over and join the diehards at Mt. Huff. Scrambles start at 10 a.m. and everyone is welcome to participate. Call 284-6300 to join this fun tournament with prizes. Remember, Mt Huff Golf Course stays open all year!

Whitehawk Ranch Ladies We will be playing our Tuesday Ladies’ Day game until the course closes. The start of cooler weather sees many of our players headed for warmer climes! We look forward to our 2020 golf season at beautiful Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club.
