Golf Results for the week of 3/11/20
Mt. Huff
On March 4, the Wednesday morning scrambles had the largest turnout this year. The beautiful weather, the fun times are becoming increasingly popular.As one golfer commented, “We may not be good, but we sure have fun!”
The weekly Wednesday morning scramble sign in time is 9:30 a.m. and tee off is at 10. Teams are randomly drawn every week and all levels of play are welcome, and encourages women to come golf.
March 4 we had a treat for the golfers. Thank you Jim for the delicious cookies! We also had a birthday of one of our top golfers. Happy birthday Tom Gossett. Now for the results.
Taking home first place was Henry Martin, Perry Bertocchi and Leo Sorosinski. Second place was Tom Gossett, Bob Brockway and Ron Williams.
There was a tie for third between the team of Matt Taborski, Donny Hubbell and Jeff Stevens and the team of Ronnie Theobald, Bob McIlroy and Darel Joseph. Fifth place was Ron McConnell, Larry Craggs and Margie Joseph.
Sixth was Ron Christensen, Mike Ingle and Frank Neff; seventh place was Jim Battagin, Dick Grace and Lance North. Scores were very close!! Closest to the pin was won by Frank Neff.
There were two chip ins, Darel Joseph and Larry Craggs. Join this great group!

Wednesday, Feb. 26
Activities Feb. 26 were as follows: Someone asked me the other day where can you golf this time of year in Plumas County and have a great lunch afterwards? It was an easy answer for me, Mt. Huff Golf Course in Crescent Mills.It is the only course open year round and has a nice café right there as well.
On Feb. 26, we had a large turnout and many new faces. Coming in at sixth place was the team of Dave Lake, Donny Hubbell and Darel Joseph. Fifth place was filled by the team of Doug Dressler, Perry Bertocchi and Leo Sorosinski. Next up the winners ladder was the team of Tom Gossett, Frank Neff and Jeff Stevens in fourth place.
The top three places were only separated by three strokes and taking third was the team of Ron Christensen, Bob Brockway and Margie Joseph.
The excitement builds with announcing second place and this was the team of Henry Martin, Jim Battagin and Bob McIlroy. The top honors of the day went to the team of Ron Williams, Lance North and Matt Taborski.
Of course the day wouldn’t be complete without the closest to the pin being won by Ron Williams. Chip ins were made by Bob Brockway, and Jeff Stevens. Congrats to all.
The club has many events throughout the year and is always accepting new members.
