Golf Results for the week of 2/14/18

Graeagle Men’s Golf Association

Spring-like conditions prevailed as 16 players from the Graeagle Men’s Golf Association enjoyed sunny skies and warm temperatures at Wolf Run Golf Course in Reno, Nevada, on Feb. 6. The fairways provided tight lies and the greens were rolling fast.

The game was low net plus skins. Duncan Golf Management, proprietor of Wolf Run, provided a free round of golf for closest to the pin, won by Dave MacDonald. Awarding three places for low net, Winston Giles was first with 63, followed by George Fraser, second with 65, and third, John Grasso with 66. There were seven skins awarded, Ron Eaton (1), Winston Giles (1), Chuck Hein (1), Gary Kinkley (2), Jeff Monaghan (1) and Norm Nichols (1).

Winter play will continue as conditions permit. For inquires about winter play or membership in the Graeagle Men’s Golf Association go to  [email protected] or visit  gmeadowsclubs.com/MenHomeDir/index.html .

Mt. Huff Golf

Getting a little concerned about the “d” word (drought), but the golfers aren’t complaining. The weather has provided a lot of recreation at Mt. Huff Golf Course.

The Wednesday Morning Scramble was played in “shirtsleeve” golf weather on Feb. 7 and three fellows even wore their shorts.

In first place at 8-under-par was the team of Ralph Cote, Jeff Stevens and David Smuts.

The second place team scored 6-under-par for Tom Gossett, Ronnie Theobold and Duane Austin.

The chip-in was hit by Darel Joseph and David Smuts.

Mike Ingle nailed it closest to the pin.

Come join us for the fun of the Wednesday Morning Scramble. Play starts at 10:30 a.m. and sing-ups are at 10 a.m. The Mt. Huff Grill is open for lunch.
