LACC Women’s Golf

On Tuesday, May 9, it was shorts weather for our second outing of the season at Lake Almanor Country Club Women’s Golf Club. We played a game in which we got to choose our best nine holes, either front or back, and subtracted half our handicap to determine our game score. It is always nice to be able to choose your score. Our winners were:

Flight 1 — First Place, Trudy Leete; Second Place, Margie Joseph; Third Place, Susan Espana.

Flight 2 — First Place, Jean Rolls; Second Place, Charlene Ferguson; Third Place, Judy Cooper.

Two of our players had chip-ins. One was made by Susan Espana on Hole 8 and the other by Trudy Leete on Hole 9.

Our 50/50 winners were Barbara Leonard and Trudy Leete. Looks like it was Trudy’s day. Congratulations to all.

Bailey Creek Women’s Golf Club

It was great to be back and greet some of our “snow birds.” We were all eager to play another 18 on such a beautiful day.

Our game was “Front Nine,” meaning the front 1 to 9 holes being the only ones counted out of the 18 holes.

We had a small group, but still had excitement during the play.

First place went to Mo Clark, playing her best game, yeah. Second place went to Wynetta Regli and third place to Ginger Birchfield.

There were three chip-ins: Diana Pallari, on Hole 9, Wynetta Regli, on Hole 18, Jenni Cesarin, on Hole 7 and finishing the day Ginger Birchfield with a “Birdie” on Hole 16.

The Graeagle Men’s Golf Association recently held their annual 2017 Spring meeting and breakfast at the clubhouse. The turnout was good and so was the breakfast. After the meeting, members played a 4-man scramble to kick-off the year. First place ended in a tie with a net 65 by the teams of Bob Laxague/John Scott/Grant Mayfield/Darrel Woods and Jim Judd/Jeff Monaghan/Dennis Flynn/Bob McIlroy. Second place with a net score of 66 was won by the team of Chuck Hien/Jim Bilger/Ron Eaton/Bob Baker.

Wednesday and Friday play days are in full swing. The course is in excellent condition for this time or year. Sign up on-line or at the clubhouse.
