Whitehawk Ranch Men’s Golf

On Sunday, June 18 (Father’s Day), the 3rd Annual “Battle of the Sexes” was contested at Whitehawk Ranch. This was the rubber match and the men were able to defend our crown. The competition was match play with each foursome comprised of two men and two ladies. Two individual matches and a better ball meant that six points were up for grabs in each foursome. The final tally was 27 to 21 with most contests going down to the wire. Thanks to our pro staff of head pro Tad McCormick and his assistants Randy Estep and Michael Reid for a well run event. A fine meal was served by MVP Marcie and staff. The Men’s Match Play Championship is underway with early rounds in progress.

Graeagle Meadows Men’s Golf Association

The June 28 Play Day was a two-man best ball low net event. Norm Nichols and Darrel Woods placed first with a 68, Mike Gibson and Aubrey Neish took second with a 69 and Dennis Chegwin and Mike O’Rear placed third with a 72. If you don’t have a foursome, Jim and Gary will pair you up.

LACC Women’s Golf Results

On Tuesday, June 27, the Lake Almanor Women’s 18-hole Golf Club hosted Invite A Nine-Tee-Niner To Play day. For those of you who don’t know, LACC has two women’s golf leagues. The Nine-Tee-Niners are a nine-hole league. Both leagues are open to women outside the area and we welcome new members.

We played a Scramble with our guests, which was followed by a luncheon at Clifford’s. Many thanks to Meg Eaton for coordinating this event. She even had a raffle for us. It was a very fun day enjoyed by everyone. We are all looking forward to a repeat of this format next year.

Prizes were awarded to the top five 4-person teams. The winners were:

First Place team, score 87, Pat Drake, Susan Davenport, Kathleen Mitchell, and Lana Kennedy.

Second Place team, score 89, Judy Cooper, Jody Cushman, Jean Rolls, and Marilyn Cohen.

Third Place teams (two teams tied), score 90, Kathy Chuchel, Lois Cottros, Joan D’Angelo, Terry McIntyre and Judie Crain, Bonnie Lamb, Nancy Foote, Donna Kennedy.
