Graeagle golfers playing final rounds until spring

The Graeagle Men’s Golf Association men hit around the course for what may likely be their final Wednesday rounds of the season Nov. 4. The group played for low net in two divisions. One group played from the Red/Green Combo tees and the other played from the Red/White Combo tees.

First place from the Red/Green tees was taken by George (Freddy) Fraser, having a 66, and second place went to Jack (The Professor) Gilbert with a 68. In the Red/White group first place went to Andy Knudsen, with a 65, and Jim Reynolds took second place with a 68. There were 6 skins taken with Ron Eaton taking the first hole with a net 2 and he also grabbed hole 4 with a 2.

On the second hole Norm Nichols shot a 2 and also took hole 14 with a 3. Tom (2-POP) Fregulia took holes 9 and 15, both with the score of 2.

As of Nov. 9, the Wednesday managers have decided to call it a season, so there will be no organized Wednesday games until spring. However, a group did gather Nov. 18, but had to play the front nine holes twice due to the back nine not being playable.

The Friday manager intends to continue on, weather permitting. Last week and the week before the weather did not permit. Golfers have clear skies Nov. 20 and Nov. 27 so stay tuned for those reports. Graeagle Meadows Golf Course traditionally shuts down the Saturday following Thanksgiving so those are anticipated to be the last reports.
