Lady rivals battle

The lady Quincy Trojans burned up the basketball court in a battle with the Greenville Indians on Jan. 8 at QHS.

The first quarter ended 13-6 for QHS, who then held the lead for the balance of the game that ended 46-18.

Top scoring for the Trojans came from sophomore Lexi Baumgartner with 16 points. Emmary Wingfield and Annie Froggatt both scored 8 points each. Jaeden Stephens added 5 points, Brystol Beatley added 4 points, Kayla Thackeray and Emma Englund scored 2 and CoraGrace Hardee added 1. Baumgartner had four 3-pointers in her total and Wingfield landed one long shot.

Quincy has a home game Friday, Jan. 17, at 5 p.m., facing Maxwell, and another home game Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 5 p.m., with the Esparto Spartans.

Greenville girls host the Downieville Warriors tomorrow, Jan. 16, at 5:30 p.m., and again Friday, Jan. 24, same time.
