The Lions All-Star game is fast approaching. The game takes place Saturday, June 18 at Shasta College. The camps for the student athletes to meet and practice together opened today, Monday, June 13. The South teams practice camps will be at Chico State.

The game is an honor bestowed only on senior players. David Leonhardt from Quincy High was chosen for the South 8-man team roster along with Wade Neer from Chester High and Miles Silva from Portola High. The coach will be Jed Tate from Burney High School. Neer was one of the handful of talented Greenville players absorbed into Volcano baseball for 2022. CHS won their playoff game and headed to sectionals this season. Neer is playing baseball for Lassen next year and starting with the summer team conflicts with the Lions All-Star football practice and game. “He’s bummed, but baseball wins I guess,” said Wade’s mom, Shelley Neer.

Elijah Allred was chosen from Quincy High School to play for the South 11-man team along with Jackson Powell from Portola High School. The coach will be Rick Prinz from Paradise High. Powell was a strong force for Tigers 2022 baseball, pitching and first base. He will also not be on the Lions All-Stars field June 18.
