100 YEARS AGO … 1918

Advertisement: Western Pacific Railroad service daily eastbound to St. Louis, Kansas City and Chicago through the Feather River Canyon: two trains daily on the Scenic Limited leaving at 7:55 p.m. for Salt Lake City and beyond or on the Pacific Express leaving at 7:30 a.m. for Winnemucca and Elko and intermediate points.

50 YEARS AGO … 1968

The new wing at Plumas District Hospital is near completion as a result of public subscription pledges and private grant money. The new wing has been designed to blend in with the original structure that was built in 1959. The new wing will add new patient rooms, operating units, air conditioning, a large hot water system and a bomb shelter in the basement.

25 YEARS AGO … 1993

Changes at Plumas District Hospital: Sutter Health will cut ties and Administrator Linda Horn will be leaving PDH, who resigned.

10 YEARS AGO … 2008

The search of Brianna Zunino Denison who has been missing from Reno since January 20 has been expanded to Plumas County with family and friends posting missing person signs, as she has local ties to the Graeagle-Blairsden area. Denison’s cousin lives in Graeagle and Brianna’s mother Bridgett of Reno is the organizer of the Great American Craft Fairs, held annually in Graeagle for the past 32 years.
