100 YEARS AGO … 2017
A proposed resolution has been recommended for a route from Carson City and Reno to San Francisco that would go through Beckwith Pass and the Feather River by way of Quincy, Oroville, Marysville and Sacramento. This plan came to mind by a trip that State Senator Keddie took recently. It is stated that Keddie and companions made the trip from Carson City to San Francisco in a 25 horsepower automobile in 42 hours in the depth of winter, demonstrating that an all-year route is feasible and would be used all 12 months of the year.
50 YEARS AGO … 1967

Advertisement: Grocery items featured at local grocery stores to celebrate St.Patricks Day– corned beef 69 cents a pound, cabbage 10 cents a head, potatos are 10 pounds for 49 cents, a loaf of rye bread is 33 cents.
25 YEARS AGO … 1992
Dave Moller has returned and has been named the new news editor for Feather Publishing Company’s six newspapers in Plumas and Lassen Counties. He previously served as the newspaper’s editor from 1981-1985, relocating to the Jefferson City Missouri Tribune, in the interim.
10 YEARS AGO … 2007
The Schomac Group, owners of the Feather River Inn located near Blairsden, will not be spending any additional money on the project as Plumas County permit problems and zoning issues have put a halt to all improvements on the project.
