100 YEARS AGO…..1917

Advertisement: Purchase your Oldsmobile automobile from F.C. Pazour, your Plumas County agent. Five or seven passenger Chummy roadster–$1,500, small five passenger roadster–$1,225.

Bakers, both locally and statewide annnouce the increaase in the price of bread is due to the increase of more than 100 per cent of the ingredients. A 12 ounce loaf will “rise” to 6 cents and a 24 ounce loaf will cost 12 cents. The price of flour in the past two weeks has “risen” $2.00 a barrel.

50 YEARS AGO…..1967

220 students will graduate from the four Plumas County high schools next week–a record number: Quincy High School 83, Greenville High School 53, Chester High School 43 and Portola High School 41. Last year there were 193 total graduates.

25 YEARS AGO…..1992

Three counterfeit $20 bills were found at Plumas Bank last week, all from deposits from local merchants.

10 YEARS AGO…..2007

Over 200 lightening strikes hit the Plumas yesterday. In addition, a considerable amount of precipitation fell in all areas, accompanied by strong and gusty winds.
