100 YEARS AGO … 1916

Plan on attending the New Years Ball at the Plumas House. Music will be provided by the Oroville Orchestra with a fine Ball supper served at mignight. Tickets, including supper is $2.00. It is understood that quite a large delegation of Oroville and Marysville residents, as a good number from Portola, Keddie, Sloat, Clio and other towns in Plumas will be present to join the fun. Out of town visitors will also take advantage of winter activities including tobogganing and sleighing which are exceptionally good here at the present.

50 YEARS AGO … 1966

A proposed annexation agreement between the Plumas Unified School District and Peralta Junior College District of Oakland in Alameda County, was approved Tuesday night by the PUSD school board. The annexation must be approved by school district voters of Plumas County.

25 YEARS AGO … 1991

Advertisement: Local New Years Eve menus– at the Village Inn, Lake Almanor offering prime rib, veal or duck ala orange with dessert and champagne, $20.00 per person. The Ten Two Bar and Grill in Meadow Valley will feature New Years Eve exotic menu specials. The Cottenwood Club in Greenville offers prime rib dinners for $10.95.
